Digital marketing for dentists and dental clinics
Digital marketing for dentists comes down to one thing: being the clinic a patient picks when they search “dentist near me” at 9 pm with a toothache, or “dental implant cost” after weeks of putting it off. Zuptek Infotech, a digital marketing agency headquartered in Faridabad, runs marketing for dental clinics across India. The work that matters most is your Google Maps listing, your reviews, and a website that explains treatments and fees clearly and factually. Everything else builds on that.

How patients find a dental clinic today
Most dental patients start on a phone. The search is usually one of three kinds.
Urgent
“Dentist near me”, “dentist open now”, “emergency dentist”. Google shows the map pack. Distance, hours and review count decide who gets the call.
Treatment research
“Root canal cost”, “clear aligners vs braces”, “dental implant clinic near me”. These patients read two or three websites, compare fees, and check reviews before booking.
Recommendation check
A friend names your clinic. The patient looks you up on Google, reads the last five reviews, scrolls your Instagram, and then messages you on WhatsApp.
Practo and Justdial still send enquiries, especially for first-time patients in a new city, but both charge for leads and show your competitors beside you. Instagram matters more for cosmetic work such as veneers, whitening and aligners, but it is also where dental advertising rules are most often broken. WhatsApp is where almost every booking in India is confirmed, so the path from search to WhatsApp should be one tap.
What we do for dental clinics
Google Business Profile and local SEO
- Set primary category to “Dentist” with secondary categories for orthodontist, dental implants periodontist, pediatric dentist and cosmetic dentist as relevant.
- List every treatment as a service with its fee or fee range, and add photos of the chair, sterilisation area and team.
- A simple, neutral review invitation: a QR card at reception and a WhatsApp message after the appointment. No incentives and no scripted reviews.
- Clean up NAP across Practo, Justdial, Lybrate and Sulekha. See our Google Business Profile optimisation and local SEO pages.
Dental website
- One page per treatment: what it involves, how many sittings, aftercare, fees and FAQs, illustrated with diagrams rather than patient photographs.
- Dentist pages with registration number and qualifications, written factually.
- Click-to-call, WhatsApp button and an appointment form that lands in your reception’s WhatsApp. Built through our web development service.
Search ads for high-value treatments
- Factual search ads for implants, aligners, full mouth rehabilitation and root canals: the treatment, the clinic, the location and how to book. No superlatives, offers or outcome claims.
- Negative keywords to block “dental college”, “BDS jobs” and “free dental camp” traffic.
- Dedicated landing pages per treatment with call tracking. See Google Ads.
Instagram for patient education
- Reels showing the clinic, the sterilisation process and how common treatments work.
- Dentist-led explainers in Hindi and English on common fears: pain, cost, time.
- DM-to-WhatsApp flow for consultation requests. No patient testimonials and no before-and-after photographs. See Instagram marketing.
Reviews and reputation
- Replies to every review within 48 hours, including complaints about waiting time or billing, without disclosing any patient details.
- Monitoring of Practo, Justdial and Google in one place. See online reputation management.
Compliance and industry rules
Dentists in India are regulated by the National Dental Commission, and the Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014 still set the advertising rules. Clause 8.1 allows a dentist or group of dentists to advertise only with decorum, and treats demeaning solicitation, false promises and canvassing for patients as unethical. Clause 8.2 bars soliciting patients and boasting of cases or cures, but permits factual listings on the internet and a website about the dentist or clinic where all information is factual, including treatment facilities and fees. Clause 8.3 restricts self-photographs and oversized signage.
In October 2026 the National Dental Commission’s Ethics and Dental Registration Board issued an advisory to all registered dentists warning against publishing patient testimonials and before-and-after photographs, recording or broadcasting procedures, misleading treatment claims and self-promotional publicity on social media, and said violations may lead to disciplinary action.
In practice this means: no “best dentist” or “painless” claims, no discount banners, no success rates, no testimonials or before-and-after images, and treatment pages reviewed by a named dentist. Google also treats dental content as health content and holds it to a higher standard.
A 90-day plan for a dental clinic
- Audit and complete the Google Business Profile, services, hours and photos.
- Fix NAP on Practo, Justdial and your own website.
- Start the neutral review invitation at reception.
- Install call and WhatsApp tracking.
Days 31 to 60: build treatment pages and start ads
- Publish 6 to 8 treatment pages with fees and FAQs.
- Launch factual search ads for two or three high-value treatments with dedicated landing pages.
- Start a weekly educational Instagram reel and two Google Business Profile posts per week.
Days 61 to 90: expand and measure
- Add location pages if you have more than one branch.
- Publish 4 patient-question articles (“Does a root canal hurt?”, “How long do implants last?”).
- Review the first 60 days of call and ad data. Cut what does not book appointments.
What results look like
We measure what reception can confirm: calls from Google Maps, direction requests, WhatsApp enquiries, form submissions, and booked appointments by source. Rankings and followers are secondary.

How can a dental clinic get more patients online?
Complete your Google Business Profile, invite every patient to leave an honest review, and build a factual treatment page for each service with its fee. That covers the searches most patients make. Add search ads for implants and aligners when you want faster volume.
How much should a dentist spend on digital marketing in India?
It depends on how many high-value treatments you want to fill and how competitive your area is. Start with local SEO and reviews, which cost the least per patient over time, then add ad spend for specific treatments once you know what a booked patient is worth to you. We give a written budget recommendation after the free audit.
Is Practo worth it for dentists?
Practo brings new patients, but you pay per lead and compete on the same screen. Use it alongside your own Google presence, and move every patient to your WhatsApp and recall list so repeat visits come to you directly.
Can dentists advertise on Google and Instagram in India?
Only within the Dentists Code of Ethics. Clause 8.1 allows advertising that maintains decorum, Clause 8.2 permits factual internet listings and websites, and the National Dental Commission’s October 2026 advisory warns against testimonials, before-and-after photos and self-promotional posts on social media. We keep ads and posts strictly factual and educational, and we recommend checking anything unusual with your state dental council.
How long does dental SEO take to work?
Google Maps improvements usually show within 4 to 8 weeks of completing the profile and building up reviews. Treatment pages take 3 to 5 months to rank for terms like “dental implant cost” in your city.
Do you work with multi-branch dental chains?
Yes. We manage one Google Business Profile per branch, build a location page for each, and report calls and bookings by branch. Our hospitals and healthcare page covers larger set-ups, and our salons, gyms and wellness page covers similar walk-in businesses.
